Lake Country Wine Tours: What Do You Need to Know Before You Go?
Are you planning on visiting some wineries in Lake Country? Why not join a tour with Sip Happens Wine Tour? Here are lots of helpful tips to ensure you book a wine tour that fits a group or party’s needs, letting you have a great time and showing you all the local wine the Scenic Sip Wine region has to offer!
It is trendiest to participate in a local wine tour in Lake Country.
Scenic Sip is the wine region famous for the growth of all types of varieties besides Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, and Riesling—wine tasting is coupled with this, so this is just the perfect place!
Lake Country sits between Kelowna and Vernon and gives the Scenic Sip Wine Trail an endless view of lakes and mountains. With its long history of growing fruit with over 2,000 hours of sunshine to kiss the vineyards and orchards that cover the hillside, it makes for a prime location.
Wine tours are a great way to see a mix of several wineries all in one day, without the hassle of driving or always one person missing out. A local guide who is very knowledgeable will be able to answer any questions you may have, from questions about the area to the different venues visited on the tour.
What You Can Expect from a Wine Tour in Lake Country
On a wine tour through the Scenic Sip Wine Trail of Lake Country, you invariably learn quite a bit about each winery on your tour. History—from the history of the wine region and winery, to the different types of wines that are made at each stop and the process of how wine is made. At each stop, you will be able to sample several wines and varietals—probably about 4 or so in each stop—like what the wine trail is noted for. Sip Happens organizes various tours that you can book on, depending on which experience you want to have and how much time you have to spend.
The following shows a list of possible options you can choose from:
1) Full-Day Wine Tour
The full-day tours stop at several 5 wineries here in the area, tasting fees included. You will be allowed to purchase as many bottles of wine as you would like. Some wineries also ship cases to your house for an additional fee, if you cannot take them with you at the time. It is a great option for those flying or already packed to the roof in your vehicle.
This tour also has a lunch stop, usually reserved at The Lookout restaurant at Grey Monk Winery, and The Garden Bistro at O’Rourke’s Peak Cellars based on availability. Lunch is at the guest’s expense.
Our tour usually begins at about 10:30 am. We will, therefore, be picking you up either from your hotel, an Airbnb, or a residence. You’ll be dropped off around 4:30 pm once the tour is over.
2) Half-Day Wine Tour
For those who might be a little short on time and cannot commit to a full-day wine tour, this half-day wine tour is the best way to experience the Scenic Sip Wine Trail.
These trips include 4 wineries, tasting fees included. These tours are either available in the AM time slot of 10:00-2:00 or in the PM time slot of 2:30-6:30 and are less than a full-day tour price if you happen to be on a tight budget.
3) Late Afternoon Dinner Wine Tour
Relax on a late afternoon tour visiting 4 wineries with tasting fees included, and a laid-back 2-hour sunset dinner reserved for you at The Lookout at Grey Monk or The Garden Bistro at O’Rourke’s Peak Cellars. Dinner is at the guest expense.
This tour picks up from hotels at approximately 2:30 pm and will have you back to your place of stay around 8:30 pm that evening.
