Ex Nihilo Vineyards

The story of Ex Nihilo Vineyards is unique, and so is the wine they make. Their inspiration was taken from Fredrick Hart’s sculpture depicting the creation of mankind, so Ex Nihilo is simply “out of nothing” in Latin-a very good name to describe this process. Two visionary families laid the ground for a winery with a dream of making superlative wines, capturing the magic of the Okanagan Valley. It was a vision that Mike and Janet Azhadi have taken forward since 2018, putting their passion into every bottle. The land is nourished through the harsh winters and warm summers of Okanagan, with each vintage capturing the essence of this transformation in Ex Nihilo’s wines.

With four generations of Okanagan Valley roots running deep, the Azhadi family feels pride in taking this opportunity to share their wines with the world and bringing people together into a sense of community. At Ex Nihilo, the wines are true expressions of the uniqueness of terroir from which they come and also reflect the dedication and hard work of the people who made it possible. Every step in the process, from vineyard to bottle, is a labor of love, and it is that passion that separates Ex Nihilo’s wines.
