In fall 2016, Jamie and Leah McDowell took the leap and turned a dinner table dream into vineyard reality. The plan was simple: find a prime location, keep things small, and sell every bottle directly to eager guests. As most winemakers can attest, sometimes the best-laid plans go sideways! With the help of a knowledgeable consultant, Jamie and Leah found the perfect place for their vineyard and retail space. Turning the dream into reality wasn’t easy; it meant long days in toasty sunshine or braving bone-chilling cold.

Jamie, a former distribution manager, brings a keen eye for detail to the operations of the vineyard itself, ensuring each grape finds its perfect spot. Leah, former owner of a VQA store, brings her expertise in wine and her bubbly personality to the tasting room, making every visit feel like a personal celebration. While their kids, Rhys and Laken, have flown the coop with their respective careers, it’s Cedar, their mischievous little whoodle, that steals the show. Her days are spent running across acres of land, collecting endless sticks — really living the dream.
