Welcome to SKAHA Vineyard @ Krāzē Legz Winery, where the view of Skaha Lake is only outdone by the remarkable wines we create! This family-owned boutique winery is located in Kaleden, BC, and features a truly one-of-a-kind microclimate and soils that speak stories of 50 million years, including shale, sandstone, and even fossils of ancient plants. They hand harvest their vines with care to capture every nuance of this unique terroir in each sip.

Their award-winning wines are the labor of love by winemakers Sue and Gerry Thygeson, inspired by Sue’s lifelong passion for horses-hence our name, as “Skaha” means horse or pony in the local Sqilxw/Syilx dialect. The artistic horse on our label is by AmyLyn Bihrle and reflects our deep respect for the land and its ecosystems.

At SKAHA, the practices follow sustainable viticulture: they are organically fertilized and use natural methods of pest control. We use minimal intervention winemaking skills such as indigenous yeast fermentation and aging in French oak to bring out the quintessential character of our vineyard into every bottle.
