Serendipity Winery

Serendipity Winery’s story starts in 2005 during an Okanagan holiday where Judy Kingston, a fine wine and food enthusiast, found herself upon a charismatic orchard in Naramata. Something about the natural beauty of this landscape had stirred something deep inside Judy, one of those “lightbulb” moments, in essence: “Why not turn this rare find into a boutique vineyard?” And by 2006, she was pulling out the gloves and planting the perfect vineyard slope. All that changed by 2007 when hard work finally paid off with the planting of Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Viognier, and Sauvignon Blanc-setting the stage for the journey of Serendipity.

The first harvest in 2009 marked a turning point that proved how committed Judy was to her dream. Fast forward to today, Serendipity Winery has won awards such as BC Winery of the Year, thanks to the incredible wines made from those original grapes. But it’s not just about wine here-though it’s certainly a highlight! Serendipity’s picturesque wine shop and bistro serve up seasonal delights that pair perfectly with their award-winning wines.

Judy greets all visitors with her ever-open arms, accompanied by her daughter Katie, who is the head winemaker, and an infectious smile. Every visit to Serendipity is a new find, from a glass of the finest wine to a flavorful bite from the bistro.
